Pavilion Smit-Bokkum has been the culinary card of Volendam for more than 160 years. With the greatest dedication, the 5th and 6th generation Smit-Bokkum is working every day to give you the very best that Volendam has to offer, on a dreamy location on the Ijsselmeer border.
In the Smit-Bokkum facility, the world-famous artisan eel smokehouse is located, where since 1856 local wild eels are smoked using the exact traditional technique.
In the restaurant you will find the original home-smoked delicacies together with a selection of traditional Volendam dishes. A dinner or lunch can be ideally combined with a tour in the eel smokehouse or with a visit to the Palingsound Museum above the smokehouse.
At Smit-Bokkum, local Volendam food becomes an authentic culinary experience, and you can taste and enjoy hospitality as it was once intended.
